🔴 Joe Biden has issued an emergency declaration for Mississippi in the wake of a deadly tornado which tore through the southern state and killed at least 26 people
Mississippi tornado: Joe Biden declares emergency after storm flattens entire town and leaves at least 26 dead
At least 25 people were killed in the state and dozens of others injured as the massive storm ripped through several towns on its hour-long path on Friday night. In Alabama, one man was killed after his trailer home flipped several times. Shirley Stamps, 58, is surrounded by her grandchildren as she sorts through her belongings in the wreckage of her home in Rolling Fork, MississippiAnnette Body had driven to the rural community of Silver City from nearby Belozi. She said she was feeling “blessed” because her own home was not destroyed, but that others had lost everything.
As shocked residents survey the damage, they are bracing themselves for more bad weather as the National Weather Service warned of more severe weather on Sunday – including high winds, large hail and possible tornados in eastern Louisiana, south central Mississippi and south central Alabama.
