President Biden and music legend Elton John will mark the 55th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, which began the start of the modern gay rights movement, during a trip to New York this weekend, according to a report.

The president will fly to New York on Friday, after debating former President Trump in Atlanta on Thursday night. He will attend a fundraiser in Manhattan that Friday evening and then head to East Hampton on Saturday for two more fundraisers along with a separate stop in Red Bank, New Jersey. A year later, he joined other senators in voting to cut off federal funds that teach acceptance of homosexuality as a lifestyle.
