Cauchi had an active presence online and, in recent weeks, had posted in numerous Facebook pages seeking surfing buddies in Sydney, advice about his astrophotography hobby, and joined a NSW single adults group. 'I made sure that I clearly, repeatedly and correctly gave all instructions when I put them in and he blunted them, then was very unhelpful afterwards, either being unable or unwilling to fix the job, leaving me with two blunt knives that are basically useless now.'I am very disappointed even though I was offered a $25 refund as the knives cost hundreds of dollars... I found that his support to me after the job had been finished was extremely poor also.
The revelations comes as new footage has surface showing Cauchi purchasing his last meal - a red chicken curry - at Bondi Junction's Saigon Noodle at about 12.22pm on Saturday - just three hours before his stabbing rampage. 'As the family have co-operated with the Queensland Police Service in this regard, and we are issuing a statement on their behalf with respect to their own condolences and thoughts to the family and friends of those victims involved in this tragedy,' he said.'Equally, they have sent a message to the NSW Police Force with respect to support of the police officer who has killed their son and expressing their concerns for her welfare.
Five other people – including four women believed to be aged between 20 and 55 and a man, aged in his 30s - who were in the centre, died at the scene. They are yet to be formally identified.
