On Friday, fans of the ITV soap saw Joel released from police custody after they failed to gather enough evidence to charge him – much to the anguish of DS Lisa Swain , his ex-fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey and victim Lauren Bolton .
As the trio remain resolute in their mission to try and bring Joel down next week, he is walking free and Carla is angered when she clocks him at the Chariot Square Hotel. Carla is meeting with a potential supplier at the hotel when she spots Joel, and she wastes no time in approaching his table to give him an earful. Carla Connor tells Joel Deering exactly what she thinks of him Seeing red, she announces to the room that he’s the person who tried to murder Lauren.
