Joey Essex surprises RoyalVolService lunch club members as The Sun's guest bingo ball caller
The Royal Voluntary Service is a fantastic charity at the frontline in communities across the nation.
Their army of volunteers serve lunches, driving people to hospital appointments, make companionship calls and so much more. One such volunteer is 96 year old Ivy George. Ivy has received an MBE for her charity work, which spans over 40 years.The mother of four added that: “It’s nice to get together with everyone, see how they are."The volunteers’ work makes a big impact. They offer a vital lifeline to thousands of vulnerable people across Britain.
Speaking about RVS-organised events like the lunch clubs, Joey said: “I’ve got a nan who’s elderly. One day, she might need something like this… It’s an amazing thing. "RVS get all these elderly people together, it gives them something to do, keeps their minds occupied.Joey Essex with attendees and volunteers at the RVS Maldon lunch club.We are running daily bingo games untilwhere all of the proceeds go straight to the RVS, helping them to run events like lunch clubs.
