The fellowship is hosting a free screening event for anyone who may not have the transportation or funds to regularly check their well-being.
The Enterprise church is partnering with the UAB Epiphany program to bring this health screening to people who need it.ENTERPRISE, Ala. - Johns Chapel AME Church in Enterprise is putting access to health screenings at the forefront.
“When I went to my cardiologists, they just always check your heart. Well, he checked my carotid artery and I had to go in and take a test because I had a burden in my right carotid artery, thinking I had a blockage which was not the case,” Williams explained.”I would say ‘I don’t need to go to the doctor, there is nothing wrong with me.’ You never know,” Williams said.
“You have to keep the wellness checks. I didn’t realize how important those wellness checks are. When you think your doctors are just trying to make a little money off of you, that’s not the case. They are keeping up with what’s wrong with you,” Williams said.“If you stay on top of the wellness, you may stay well,” Williams said.
