John Fury features in Netflix's new At Home With The Furys documentary where the 58-year-old former boxer is portrayed as quietly spoken
Despite the new Netflix series At Home With The Furys reaching the number one spot, a family has said they can't bear to watch it after Tyson Fury's father gouged out their own dad's eye.
However, he hasn't always been that calm and was sentenced in 2011 to 11 years in jail for wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Victim Oathie Sykes, now 57, told Manchester Crown Court he believed John wanted to completely blind him in the attack on him at a car auction on the morning of July 14, 2010, reports the Mirror."It was like he was trying to pull his finger into my brains through my socket," he said.
The bust up which led to Oathie losing an eye is said to be the end of a 12 year feud involving a bottle of beer which erupted when the former pals were on a trip to Cyprus in 1999. John, who admitted the charge, appealed for leniency telling the court "If I could give my own eye to him to get back to my children I would do – I’m begging you for my life".
