A £242 table lamp named 'Jobby The Cat' by John Lewis has gone viral in Scotland due to the humorous, slang-filled name. Social media users have been reacting with amusement, suggesting the department store needs a Scottish marketing team to avoid such naming gaffes.
Scots have been left in hysterics after John Lewis unveiled a new £242 table lamp on their website - called 'Jobby The Cat'.
The description suggests "Jobby can travel from room to room like any typical feline", adding "he is rechargeable and his eyes light up when you push his magic gold-coloured button". Shoppers have been in hysterics at the bizarre product and its brilliant name, which is famously an informal word - north of the border - for a number two, the Daily Record reports.
The post has since gone viral, being viewed over 200,000 times and has received floods of hilarious comments. Denumerabl said: "Nice to see a wee jobby on the coffee table." The Vile Maxim said: "I was in the lighting dept of John Lewis in Glasgow the other day. Didn't spot any jobbies on display! Did the Glasgow branch spot the potential embarrassment and kept their jobbies hidden in the run up to Xmas? Maybe put them out with a huge mark down in the New Year sales?"
