Trabzonspor have reportedly reached an "agreement in principle" to sign John Lundstram at the end of his Rangers' contract.
The 30-year-old has been locked in talks over a new deal with the Scottish Premiership side, but with no agreement in place, the Scouser is free to leave Ibrox at the end of the season. Reports had suggested that English Premier League hopefuls Ipswich Town are eyeing the Scouser while they chase promotion from the Championship but reports in Turkey claim that the Super Lig side have won the race for a deal.
beIN Sports claim that "an agreement in principle" has now been reached with Trabzonspor with the contract "at the signing stage" with the clock ticking on his current Rangers' deal. Boss Philippe Clement has previously admitted he would like to keep the 30-year-old in Govan next season - but going into the clash with St Mirren revealed Lundstram had not agreed to any offers put on the table by Rangers so far.
The Belgian said: “There have been offers from the club, there is no agreement yet. That is the only thing I can say at the moment. "I hope that . I know he loves the club and to be here but it depends on what you can offer as a club and what other clubs are offering. That is why I don’t like that important players get to the end of their contracts. I don’t think it is a good thing for a club. It is something that will never happen again while I am here.”
