John McAreavey celebrated the new year with his wife Tara and their two children, James and Lily.
John McAreavey penned a special message after he rang in the New Year with his wife Tara and their two children. The former Down GAA football player shared a beautiful photo of himself with his family, with him and Tara all smiles as they posed with their kids, James and Lily. John matched with his son as they both wore white shirts, while Tara stunned in a black dress and their daughter looked adorable in a pink outfit.
John shared a post marking the start of 2025 and looked back on the past year with a short but meaningful message. He wrote: 'Thank you God for another great year'. The father-of-two received plenty of sweet comments and good luck wishes for the year ahead. One follower said: 'Lovely Family photo John and Tara. Wishing you every Blessing and Good Wish for the New Year!. A second person wrote: 'Happy New Year guys hope you all had a wonderful Christmas here's to 25.' A third commenter shared: 'Hope health and happiness'. With another person adding: 'If anyone deserves happiness and a great year is yourself John....may you and your wee family have health, happiness in abundance'. John and Tara celebrated eight years of marriage a few months ago after they tied the knot in September 2016. They had a private ceremony in County Kildare at the time. They became parents to their first child together, a son named James, in October 2020. They later welcomed their daughter Lily in January 2023. John has said that Tara is 'fiercely protective' of him and that she wants to make sure that he is okay. The couple first met in Galway in 2012 after he decided to take a holiday following the football match 'Match for Michaela', which was put on in memory of his first wife, who was tragically killed on their honeymoon in 2011. John said that he felt a spark between them as soon as they started talking and remembered the exact date: 'It was a Saturday night, November 10, 2012
