Benfica were given a penalty for handball on John Souttar and Miller was left raging at the decision.

It was a big result for Rangers in Lisbon but it wouldn't be a big European game these days without some refereeing controversy, would it?

It came as Souttar attempted to head a corner clear, but headed the ball down onto his own arm - enough for a penalty in the eyes of whistler Tobias Stieler after reviewing his own decision. It proved to be perhaps the least consequential goal of the game - with Rangers going back in front virtually straight away through Dujon Sterling before Connor Goldson's second-half own goal levelled things back up - but it's raised outcry among the pundits in the aftermath.

"His hand comes close to the ball as it's passing, but it's not conclusive. For me, there is no way in this world they can definitively say that the ball hit - and it must be the very tops of his fingers - before it hit his head. There is no way they can see that. I'm in absolutely no doubt, it's as clear as day, that he heads it onto his arm.
