Former councillor Jonathan Dowdall and his father Patrick Dowdall both pleaded guilty to facilitating Mr Byrne's murder.Jonathan Dowdall has agreed to take part in the Irish witness protection programme in order to give evidence in the trial of Gerry Hutch.
