I’ve been writing about video games, television and movies for Forbes for over 10 years, and you may have seen my reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. I cover all manner of console and PC games, but if it’s about looting or shooting, I’m definitely there. If I’m watching something, it’s usually science fiction, horror or superheroic.
Within hours of his domestic violence conviction, Disney fired Jonathan Majors, putting the Kang-based arc of the MCU into a tailspin. Only recently do we now know the plan, that the major villain will no longer by Kang, but Doctor Doom, inexplicably played by former Tony Stark actor Robert Downey Jr.At the prompting of TMZ, Majors compares his situation to Downey Jr.
“I think it’s fair that Mr. Downey is being and has been greeted with patience and curiosity and love…and being allowed to work art and be creative at that level. I didn’t really get that.”“Hell yeah! Hell yeah! I love him. I love Kang. If that’s what the fans want, and that’s what Marvel wants then let’s roll. Hell yeah.”instead to a 52-week domestic violence intervention program, but there is zero chance Disney takes him back, and not just because they’ve erased the Kang arc.
In theory, Marvel could just end the Kang arc with Loki season 2 where he “beat” Kang’s fatalistic prophecy of destruction, and then I suppose we could just ignore the “Army of Kangs” post-credits scene in Marvel’s worst-received movie, Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, where the Conqueror variant of Kang was killed by giant ants.
We have of course seen the last of Majors in the MCU, and if we do see Kang again somehow, it will not be his face stamped on all the variants. As it should not be.Our community is about connecting people through open and thoughtful conversations. We want our readers to share their views and exchange ideas and facts in a safe space.
