The public is encouraged to come out to Sams Club or JPD on Saturday, April 27 for the annual Drug Take Back Day.
Do you have any old or leftover medications lying around your home? If so, the Jonesboro Police Department wants you to collect those medications.
Start putting those unused medications in a bag because the Jonesboro Police will partner with the Drug Enforcement Administration to host the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this Saturday, April 27. The goal of the take-back event is to help Americans get rid of old, unused, or expired medications that often just sit in a cabinet at home. Sometimes it can serve as a gateway to addiction.
Accepted solid forms of prescription drugs include tablets, capsules, and patches. Items that will not be accepted are Illicit drugs, syringes, and sharps. JPD says if you want to dispose of any liquid medications like cough syrup, they need to be in the original container with a sealed cap.Drug Take Back Day will be this Saturday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. with two drop-off locations, the Jonesboro Police Department at 1001 S. Caraway Road, Jonesboro, and Sam's Club 2405 S. Caraway Road, Jonesboro, Ark.
