In a surreal start, a group of protesters made their way onto the pitch and poured orange paint on the surface before Bairstow picked up one of them up and carried them away.
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that three people have been arrested in connection with the incident.wicket-keeper was given a standing ovation by the Long Room as he returned from the pavilion after disposing of the disruptor and changed his equipment. It is not the first time Bairstow has had to deal with such an event. In 2021, YouTuber Daniel “Jarvo” Jarvis collided with him after entering the pitch during an England Test against India; Jarvis was later found guilty of aggravated assault.
A brief delay at Lord's due to protestors invading the pitch, but they're swiftly dealt with – with Jonny Bairstow helping remove one of them from the field.
