Former Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson posted a message ahead of Saturday's showdown with Everton
Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has posted to his social media ahead of the Merseyside derby against Everton on Saturday. The midfielder shared a memory of his goal against the Blues on his Instagram story with the Reds set to lock-horns with their neighbours for the final time at Goodison Park. Arne Slot's side travel across Stanley Park to take on the Toffees, who will be buoyant on the back of their much-needed 4-0 win over fellow strugglers Wolves in midweek.
Henderson's strike outside the box was his first and only goal against their city rivals during a 4-1 win over Rafael Benitez's side in 2021. The 34-year-old shared the goal and captioned it: 'Derby days,' accompanied by a face with steam emoji. Despite leaving Liverpool, Henderson's affinity with the club remains and he visited the AXA Training Centre in October. He reunited with his former teammates and was greeted by the man who replaced him as captain, Virgil van Dijk.
