Ex-Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was spotted back at a Premier League side's training ground months after joining Ajax
at Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, with his contract being terminated after just a matter of months in the Middle East.The 33-year-old opted to move to the Eredivisie with Ajax but his fortunes haven’t improved much, winning just one game in nine appearances so far.
It was revealed by Ajax manager Johannes van’t Schip that Henderson had suffered an injury after the recent international break, with the midfielder staying in England to continue his rehabilitation.report Henderson was spotted back at Liverpool at their AXA Training Centre, being put through his paces during a one-to-one session.The report claims Henderson’s presence back at the club he captained for a number of years delighted Liverpool’s young academy players.
Henderson will hope to put his fitness issues behind him ahead of this summer’s EURO 2024 tournament with Gareth Southgate visiting the Netherlands to keep track of his progress in Amsterdam.Speaking about his chances of making the England squad, Henderson said: “It was good for him to come and watch to see that he’s keeping an eye on me.
