Barry Ferguson believes Jordan Henderson is a 'perfect' fit for Rangers and reckons an ambitious move for the former Liverpool star could be just what the doctor ordered to get the club back to where they need to be.
But former skipper and Record Sport columnist Ferguson has a plan to get the Gers flying again - and it involves tempting ex Liverpool star Henderson to Govan. The Premier League and Champions League winner has endured a difficult spell at Ajax after returning to Europe last January following his brief stint with Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League.
Ferguson believes the 34-year-old's vast experience will be integral in the Ibrox dressing room and that he would improve the team's younger players in midfield tenfold. Speaking to gambling.com, he said: "I think he would be perfect, Jordan Henderson. Obviously it's not worked out at Ajax since he left Saudi Arabia. I think somebody like Jordan Henderson, with the experience he's got, would more than bring on the three players that I've mentioned .
