Subbing for an injured chaseelliott, IMSA star jordan10taylor has been very impressive so far as he prepares to make his first ever start in NASCAR. Rolling off 4th on the grid, could he be a real threat for the win on debut?
Although he admits he “almost crashed the car” in his first two laps of practice on Friday, Taylor has been head-and-shoulders above the other notable outsiders entered in Sunday’s race in terms of performance.
“We made good set-up changes to kind of help me with that, to give me a better sense of where the grip was. I see people talking about how close the parallels are, but I think if you talk to anybody who has driven both, it’s quite a shocking difference.” “It was surreal, and honestly felt surreal until getting to the track here and getting into the car in practice. I was shaking the whole time until we actually got to driving,” he said. “It’s definitely an intense experience.
