Bastian Schweinsteiger has spoken about his exit from Manchester United.
The former German international said: “The next day, my birthday, I walked in, came to Carrington, John Murtough was there and he said 'you're not allowed to walk into the dressing room. The coach said so’.“No warning, nothing. He just stood there and told me that. It was not easy for him to tell me that, I must say.”went on to reveal he had to ask someone to bring him his boots and training gear as he went to train with the Under 16s side.
He added: “So I went to the youth dressing room, changed there and trained with the Under-16s. I had to ask him to bring me my training kit and cleats.“I had a meeting with him in the afternoon. He explained to me that he didn't see me happy at United, because when I had my injury, I did my rehab with the German doctors, for example.”
The Portuguese said: “He’s in the category of players that I feel sorry for something that I did to him. “I don’t want to speak about him as a player, I don’t want to speak as I buy or not to buy. I want to speak about him as a professional, as a human being.”Mourinho added: “The last thing I told him before he left: ‘I was not right with you once, I have to be right with you now.’ So when he was asking me to let him leave I had to say ‘yes’ you can leave because I did it once, I cannot do it twice. So I feel sorry for the first period with him, he knows that.
