Comedian Josh Widdicombe has opened up about his nerve-wracking stint on the Strictly Come Dancing's festive special, confessing that it was the 'most terrifying thing' he's ever faced. The 41-year-old funnyman gave the panel on Wednesday's episode of Loose Women a peek behind the sequins of his time on the major BBC dancing show. Despite enjoying the experience overall, Josh didn't shy away from admitting that the physical demands of dancing caused him to sweat more than usual.
During a frank exchange with presenters Kaye Adams, Coleen Nolan, Mariella Frostrup, and Sunetra Sarker, along with his dance partner Karen Hauer, Josh recounted: 'It was the most terrifying thing I've ever done. So the first two sessions, I was just dripping with sweat so badly!' Josh shared an amusing anecdote from his training days with Karen: 'Karen, at the end, said- like when we had been going at a month doing this thing- she said, 'I just assumed you were a really sweaty person.' I had such fear sweats!' reports the Mirror . Even shopping for dance gear turned into a humorous incident for Josh. He relayed: 'I went to buy a T-shirt like a sports T-shirt beforehand and tried it on. I went to pay for it in Adidas and the woman behind the counter said, 'Oh sorry, someone's tried it on.' It was me!' Josh also took a moment to praise this year's winner and his mate Chris McCausland, saying: 'He was incredible on it. He was absolutely amazing.' The star admired Chris's journey through the competition, feeling that by the third week it was apparent he was a standout performer: 'From week three, you just thought this guy is kind of the star of the whole thing!' The chat closed with Josh mentioning that despite his success, father-of-two Chris hadn't anticipated winning the series.
