The winger has endured a nightmare start to life in the Saudi Pro League after leaving Parkhead.
Nuno Espirito Santo has been slammed in Saudi Arabia as he was accused of being the key figure behind bringing Jota to Al-Ittihad.
With Saudi clubs only allowed to register eight foreign players in their squad each season the Portuguese star looks set to miss the cut and could be without regular first-team football until transfer business ramps up again in January. Now fingers are being pointed in the Middle East over who was behind the costly decision to snap up the Celtic Treble winner - with Nuno landing with the blame.
Atif said: "Nuno Santo is the one who bears responsibility for the mistake of excluding the player. Nuno Santo asked for Jota by name. It is a mistake which he has was repeated after excluding Helder Costa in the past, and these cost the club."
