Diogo Jota was absent from Liverpool's main training session on Thursday, focusing on individual work ahead of their Saturday match against Brentford. While his recent return from injury has been promising, Liverpool remains cautious, managing his training load carefully. Luis Diaz also underwent individual training, while Darwin Nunez rejoined the squad after suspension.
Diogo Jota was absent from Liverpool's team training session on Thursday, ahead of their Saturday trip to Brentford . The Portuguese forward came on as a substitute against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, scoring an equalizer with his first touch. This marked his return to form after an upper body impact injury sidelined him since October. Since his comeback, Jota has netted four goals. Liverpool remains cautious with Jota's training regimen, considering his history of injuries.
Sky Sports, present at the AXA Training Centre, reported that Jota was engaged in individual work indoors while the rest of Arne Slot's first-team squad trained outside.Luis Diaz was also not training with the main group, according to Sky's footage, suggesting he was involved in separate indoor training. Meanwhile, Joe Gomez continues to be sidelined due to a hamstring injury. On a positive note, Darwin Nunez rejoined the team after missing the Nottingham Forest match due to suspension. Prior to the Forest clash, Slot had revealed that Jota, like all his players, follows individual training programs. He explained, 'All of them have 80 percent the same programme and the last 20 percent is for every player individual. They do individual work in the gym as well.So it is not only for him we have a special programme, we try to have a special programme for all the squad players we have. He, like all the others, is someone I like to have in my squad and like to have him available. When it comes to building up his match fitness, it went from 30 minutes to 30 minutes to a bit more, a bit more and now he is ready to play 90. That is a good thing because we have to play many games in the upcoming weeks. It is nice to have him available and hopefully it stays like this for the last four or five months.
