Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis testifies during a hearing on the Georgia election interference case, Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, in Atlanta. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee said he found the “allegations and evidence legally insufficient to support a finding of an actual conflict of interest.” However, he found there remains an “appearance of impropriety.”
Willis and Wade admitted to the relationship but rejected the idea that Willis improperly benefitted from it. Wade was hired to lead the team that would ultimately prosecute Trump and 18 others accused of participating in a scheme to illegally try and overturn the Fulton County election in Georgia in 2020.
