Google lawsuit last year, both companies faced off in court again on Thursday to decide on the specific changes Google will have to make to rectify the issue, as reported by Reuters and Wired. Epic is hoping the court approves several remedies it had previously submitted, which Google claims are over the top and would “harm the privacy, security, and overall experience of consumers.
”' Donato also took issue with what he said was Google’s attempt to show “a terrifying world of chaos” if the proposed remedies were made to app store markets. “I just don’t buy it,” Donato said, adding, “We are going to be walking on new terrain for a while. That’s just the consequence of breaking the antitrust laws — we have to do things in a different way.” The judge also had no sympathy for Google’s argument that the proposed changes would be bad for consumers and businesses.
