A Brazilian judge has ruled that Adele's song 'Million Years Ago' is too similar to a 1995 Brazilian hit and ordered her to remove it from circulation.
Adele has been ordered to remove a song from her catalog by a judge after he upheld a claim that the British singer plagiarized a composer. The 2015 track Million Years Ago is said to be too similar to Mulheres, a 1995 hit by the Brazilian composer Toninho Geraes . A Brazilian judge is now attempting to get her record label to suspend sales of the song and prevent it from being played on streaming services like Spotify.
Victor Torres issued a legal injunction ordering only Music Entertainment and Universal Music to stop 'immediately and globally, from using, reproducing, editing, distributing or commercialising the song Million Years Ago’. Geraes has requested $160,000 and a songwriting credit on Million Years Ago. He wrote Mulheres for the Brazilian singer Martinho da Vila. This is not the first time that Adele has faced a plagiarism dispute over Million Years Ago. Kurdish artist Ahmet Kaya stated that she had used the same tune as his 1985 song Acilara Tutunmak

Trump's Hush Money Conviction Upheld Despite Immunity ArgumentsA judge ruled that evidence used in the hush money trial against former President Donald Trump was admissible, rejecting arguments based on his presidential immunity.
