Months later, 43 out of 45 charges brought forward after an extensive Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission investigation were withdrawn. The court heard Northe provided falsified bank statements and invoices to his auditor in 2019 and 2020 for the previous calendar years to avoid paying back money not spent from his $200,000 allowance, paid to members of parliament each year for office running costs.
