In his second bond reduction hearing to date, Ramon Preciado asked a judge Monday to reduce his bond citing health and financial issues.
A judge denied a motion to reduce the bail for one of the suspects charged in connection with the deaths of Savannah Soto , Matthew Guerra and their unborn child on Monday. Ramon Preciado , 53, was arrested on Jan. 3 and charged with abuse of a corpse and altering, destroying or concealing a corpse. In February, Preciado’s bail was reduced from $600,000 to $450,000 after his attorney argued that it was “oppressive” and his family could not pay.
Ramon Preciado was called to the witness stand to discuss his ongoing health and financial problems to help make his case. He previously said he had diabetes and high blood pressure and was not receiving his medications at the right time and the correct dosages at the Bexar County jail. In Monday’s hearing, Preciado said he was hospitalized about a month ago for having low potassium levels, which he attributed to receiving the wrong medications and being overmedicated.
