Dean Howard, Brandon Voorhees, Daniel Dubia and a woman were wandering around downtown that night setting off firecrackers, they said at trial. About 45 minutes after the first encounter, Christensen emptied the magazine of his AK-47 from outside his third-story apartment when the three men — now without the woman — returned to the Fourth Avenue in a truck.
