Speaking through an interpreter, he told the court: "I moved into the property two weeks before this and I hadn't even seen him . "I was terrified. I fled my country because of the problems. I didn't want to come here and find more.The court heard that Bonner also made a 999 call. He claimed that he went outside to confront his neighbour over late night noise and the neighbour's pal threatened him with a small knife.
