Haseeb Majid is accused of unlawfully killing Mohammed Duraab Khan
A jury has been sworn on a murder trial of a 22-year-old Nottingham man alleged to have stabbed his victim to death on a petrol station forecourt. The six men and six women were told by Judge Steven Coupland the trial at Nottingham Crown Court is likely to last up to three weeks.
Haseeb Majid of Wilford Crescent, The Meadows, is accused of unlawfully killing Mohammed Duraab Khan, who was fatally wounded at the Texaco in Meadow Lane close to Lady Bay Bridge at around 6.20pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. He denies murder and possession of a knife in relation to the incident. Police were called to the scene but the 26-year-old victim died a short time later. At the inquest opening into the death of Mr Khan on Wednesday, July 17, Assistant Coroner for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Sarah Jane Wood said that a post-mortem examination had determined that stab wounds to his left arm and torso caused his death. Mr Khan, who was born on September 25, 1997, was identified after the incident by his brother.
