Actor and director Justin Baldoni opens up about his past sexual trauma caused by an ex-partner during a podcast interview, challenging societal norms about who can be a victim of sexual abuse.

'I told myself for 15 years after that that wasn't actually what happened and that I did want it and all of the things that women have been feeling and experiencing for a long time,' Baldoni added. Justin said the toxic relationship started after he met a 'beautiful young woman' at an Abercrombie & Fitch, back when he was attending Long Beach State.
'One day my therapist asked me a very simple question. She said,"Justin, you do a lot of work in this space: If a woman told you that story, what would you call it?" And that's when I broke,' he shared, adding that his 'healing' then started. The actor said he grappled with 'acknowledging that a woman could take advantage of me' on Wednesday's episode of Elizabeth Day’s How to Fail podcast; seen in 2024
Baldoni is now married to wife Emily, whom he wed in 2013. The pair share two kids, Maiya, nine, and Maxwell, seven.
