Northern Ireland politicians will at Stormont gather to celebrate two very special dogs who helped the search efforts in Turkey after the devastating earth quakes.
And on March 9, politicians will gather to thank them for their international search efforts and highlight the incredible work search and rescue dogs carry out under intense circumstances with their handlers in an event hosted by the Alliance Party. The charity's founder Ryan Gray, from Bangor, Co Down, travelled Kyle Murray and their dogs Max and Delta, to Turkey to help with the search, rescue ands recovery work, and on Thursday they will be honoured in the Long Gallery at Stormont.
"On our first night in Turkey, Max indicated on a pile of rubble at 11pm. He is trained to indicate living people and we stayed until 5.30am conducting further searches as rubble was removed. It turned out that Max had indicated the spot where a 20-year-old girl had been trapped but sadly she died later despite the best efforts of all the teams.
