The 28-year-old, who was named on the bench for their pre-season friendly against AC Milan on Saturday, spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham in search of regular game time. Phillips returned to City at the end of the season and is now keen to depart the Etihad once again, but this time on a permanent transfer.
It's reported that City are willing to let him go and have set an asking price in the region of £20m. That would represent a loss on the £42million they splashed out for him. Meanwhile, Joao Cancelo reportedly has interest from Saudi Arabia. According to Sport, as translated and relayed by Football Espana, Al-Ahli and Al-Ettifaq are both willing to pay the £25million asking price set by City, who are supposedly 'desperate' to part ways with the defender.
