Nearly half of Americans believe Democrats replacing President Joe Biden as their 2024 nominee with Kamala Harris gives the party a better chance of winning the November election, according to a poll.A Redfield & Wilton Strategies poll of 1,750 eligible voters, conducted exclusively for Newsweek, found that 48 percent believe Democrats are 'more likely' to win with the vice president leading the ticket, including 23 percent who believe it makes it 'significantly' more likely.
Harris has also seen a surge in fundraising, with her campaign reporting it raised more than $200 million in its first week, about two-thirds of which came from first-time donors.Elsewhere, the Redfield & Wilton Strategies survey found that more than one-third of U.S. voters said they are now more likely to vote for the Democratic nominee in November now that Harris has replaced Biden, compared to 27 percent who say it makes them less likely.
