The latest transfer news on Leeds United midfielder Glen Kamara, who has been targeted by Rennes in the summer transfer window
Daniel Farke formed a brilliant partnership in the middle of the park last season, pairing deadline day signings Ilia Gruev and Glen Kamara together. The latter, signed from Rangers, joined on a four-year deal for a £5m.
Initial attraction The sparks for this fire were lit at the end of June, when French outlet L'Equipe claimed Kamara had emerged as a prime target for Les Rouges et Noirs. This arose from a midfield reshuffle taking place in France as Nemanja Matic, Fabian Rieder and Enzo Le Fee were on their way out.
During the 2023/24 campaign when his side saw off Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town 4-1, the manager outlined the importance of a seasoned team member such as Kamara, gelling together the younger talent involved. "He's definitely a player who gives us lots of quality on the ball in his decision-making, which pass to make, can also dictate the rhythm of the game. He is a top teammate, a top lad, pretty much involved in every joke that the lads have in the dressing room. So he's a great, great guy to have around and we're all happy together."
Kamara's contract status As stated earlier, Leeds' Finland international signed a four-year contract when he made the move from Ibrox last summer.
