The Showon Group, known for the infamous Karen's Diner, is launching a new concept called Karen's Bombay, bringing their signature rude service to the world of Indian cuisine.

The Showon Group, the entertainment company behind the UK's Karen's Diner, is set to revamp the brand with an Indian concept. The new restaurant experience will offer Indian cuisine and infamously rude behavior under a new name - Karen's Bombay. The original Karen's Diner visited Liverpool on several occasions as a pop-up hosted in Aloft, North John Street. The most recent visit was a weekend in June, 2024 with both days selling out of tickets.

Guests could expect classic diner items including burgers, fries and shakes surrounded by retro 50s décor. However, staff would purposely act as rude as possible as part of the experience's core, controversial selling point. The company went into liquidation in September with sites in Brighton, Manchester, Birmingham and Sheffield closing. The London Angel location remains open under Showon Group's franchise. With rights secured from Karen’s Australian parent company, Showon Group plans to introduce Karen’s Bombay as 'the rudest Indian restaurant in the world'. The company is now searching for Indian restaurants keen on converting their establishments into a theatrical dining spectacle. The group's creative producer said: 'When our diner clients ceased to trade, we were left to fend for ourselves. The Karen’s experience is loved by millions globally, and we felt now was the perfect time to bring our unique flair to new groups of diners.' Showon will offer theatrical training for front-of-house teams for a fee and arrange entertainment programmes that align with the Karen’s Bombay experience. The trading model provides participating restaurants with a Karen’s Bombay license allowing them to market under the Karen’s name
