Kari Lake suffered another legal setback on Tuesday when the Arizona Court of Appeals rejected the Republican's latest appeal of her 2022 gubernatorial election loss.Lake, a former television news anchor, launched a legal bid to overturn her defeat to her Democrat Katie Hobbs, who won the race by just over 17,000 votes.
Regarding Lake's claim that signatures were not properly verified, the appeals court affirmed the trial court's decision that Maricopa County workers abided by the state's signature-matching requirement.'We affirm the judgment of the trial court,' the unanimous ruling says.It comes after Lake sought appeal motions from the trial court's previous ruling on the basis of newly discovered evidence, alleged fraud and other extraordinary circumstances.
