Kasper Schmeichel broke Celtic hearts by saving a famous penalty for Falkirk 17 years ago and now he's set to sign for the champions.
Falkirk had lost eight games in a row heading into the game, but a goal from midfielder Steven Thompson and a penalty save from Schmeichel from Craig Beattie earned the hosts the three points, which saw both teams reduced to ten men after Stephen McManus and Carl Finnigan were sent off. The defeat was Celtic's third in a row and was the first time in 13 years they had been defeated for three successive matches, after previously losing to AC Milan and Rangers.
Then-Falkirk head of football operations George Craig later explained: "It was a massive coup for Falkirk to bring someone like Schmeichel to the club. Kasper was a lovely lad and a larger than life personality and when he won the English title with Leicester I was absolutely delighted for him.
