Kate Beckinsale has opened up about what led to her harrowing hospital visit Kate Beckinsale has shed light on her recent hospitalization, revealing that she ‘burned a hole in her esophagus’ after an awful few months. Earlier this year, the Underworld actress’ stepdad, Roy Battersby, died while her mom, Judy, also battled health issues. The 50-year-old then sparked concern from fans after she shared a string of Instagram photos from her hospital bed at Cedars Sinai in LA.
