The Deputy First Minister took aim at the Scottish Conservatives leader and accused him of tactics 'straight out the Farage playbook'.
Kate Forbes has accused Douglas Ross of betraying an ill election candidate after the Scottish Conservatives leader u-turned on a pledge not to run again to become an MP.
Speaking at FMQs, Ross attempted to deflect attention away from the story by asking Forbes if the SNP supported the granting of new licenses for oil and gas development in the North Sea. "We've heard a lot of figures this week that have been cooked up by the Tories. And the bottom line for us is we're led by the evidence - and we will always back the north east and Scottish workers."
Forbes fired back: "If Douglas Ross wants to back the north east, there's some big questions for him. On a day when he betrays a Conservative candidate in the north east, who they trusted to be a minister in the UK Government, who is currently recovering from ill health, who was planning to stand in this election, and who was supported by local members.
