Kate Garraway has shared her heartbreaking fear when it comes to her husband Derek Draper and his continued health challenges. The Good Morning Britain presenter has recently opened up about a change in his condition, saying he'd developed a "weird choking" condition that's baffling doctors.
While he's made some progress since coming out of his coma, he can still only say the occasional few words and is struggling with renal failure and infected wounds. Another of Derek's struggles comes from his lungs as he can't breathe in oxygen nor breathe out carbon dioxide efficiently, meaning his body is "slightly poisoned all the time".
In a new interview, following the release of her second book, the Strength of Love, Kate said that adrenaline has played a huge part in their journey, but it has also led to constant anxiety over Derek's condition. "Well, yeah I think it’s been quite interesting," Kate replied. "I think some of what I’ve been writing about in the book , is the fact that you have adrenaline, don’t you, when something dramatic happens. I talk about what I think is adrenaline, it’s a bit of a frenemy.
