A royal expert has revealed the former nickname of the Princess of Wales from her university days, but says that Kate Middleton 'never rose' to the mockery of 'snooty' friends
Kate Middleton , now honoured with the title of Princess of Wales, remains endearingly down-to-earth to those in her inner circle, including Prince William and her own family who lovingly call her Catherine or the familiar Kate.
Katie highlighted Kate's dignified response: "To her full credit, Kate never rose to it - the snootiness of the upper classes levelled at what they called the en-masse Middletons." When the Princess of Wales made an appearance at the Chelsea Flower Show and when asked by a schoolgirl about what it's like being a royal, she gave a refreshingly honest five-word response: "You have to work hard".
The youngsters were even let in on a little secret about Prince Louis' green fingers at school, where he's been nurturing broad beans in the garden. Plus, Kate showed off her artistic side, choosing to sketch flowers and plants as a unique memento for the children instead of giving an ordinary signature.
