It was unclear whether or not the family would be releasing birthday portraits of their children—but the Waleses have decided to keep up the tradition.
Kate Middleton is once again behind the camera. Today, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a new photograph of their son, Prince Louis, for his sixth birthday. It shows the young royal smiling, in a blue and yellow checkered shirt, while laying outside on a blanket. The photograph was taken at Windsor, where the family has a home of Adelaide Cottage, in April. “Happy 6th Birthday, Prince Louis!” The family wrote in a caption, along with a cake emoji. “Thank you for all the kind wishes today.
“Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing,” she said in a statement. “I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.” Although it’s usually a tradition for the royal family to share pictures on their children's birthday, it was unclear this year if it would continue.
