The Princess of Wales joked there might be bloom for improvement where William is concerned this Valentines Day 🌷
yesterday, florist Neil Ashcroft pointed out that February 14 is only two weeks away and offered her a discount.
He said afterwards: ‘I suggested William will be buying her roses and she said, “I don’t think he will!”’ With the royal visit taking shoppers by surprise, the future queen was called ‘love’ by pensioner Shirley Wainwright. The 75-year-old said Kate laughed when she told her: ‘I didn’t know love you were coming.’
The visit to Leeds marked the start of the princess’s Shaping Us campaign, and she asked parents for their views on her project. The initiative to highlight the significance of a child’s early years has been described as Kate’s ‘life’s work’. Later, meeting Leeds university students on a childhood studies programme, she told one group her visit ‘makes me want to be back at uni’.
