Kate Winslet has not-so-fond memories of one of her most iconic on-screen kisses. In Vanity Fair’s “Scene Selection” segment, the actor rewatched the famous “king of the world” scene from the 1997 box office hit “Titanic,” revealing that her shared kiss with co-star Leonardo DiCaprio was “not all it’s cracked up to be.” “Oh my, lordy,” Winslet says as a scene of her character Rose and DiCaprio’s Jack appears on screen. “This might be really cringe.
” Her reasoning? Winslet revealed that in her corset she had her and DiCaprio’s makeup, brushes and sponges to do touch ups in between takes. “And I would end up looking as though I had been sucking a caramel chocolate bar after each take because his makeup would come on to me,” she recalled, adding that then he would have her makeup on his face. “Oh god, it was such a mess,” Winslet said.
