Katharine McPhee gave fans a rare glimpse into her marriage to David Foster during their holiday concert in New Jersey last week on Thursday. The Scorpion actress, 40, reflected on meeting Foster, 75, on American Idol 18 years earlier during An Intimate Evening with David Foster & Katharine McPhee at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC).
The singer — who was runner-up in the fifth season of the competition series — said she would get excited each week of the show since she would meet many renowned artists. 'I'd call my mom and say,'Mom, you'd never believe who it is this week! And this week, it's Andrea Bocelli…and a producer,'' the star said, revealing she didn't know the Canadian record producer at the time. 'And she was like,'Kat, you know exactly who David Foster is because he's only written and produced every song, every artist when you were growing up.'' McPhee — who recently revealed the gift she got for the film composer for his 75th birthday — then joked about their 35-year age gap, adding, 'We have a slight age difference in case you guys didn't notice that.'
