Kathleen Folbigg - a NSW mother who was convicted of killing her four children more than two decades ago - will be released from prison after being pardoned for her convictions, in what is set to become one of the largest miscarriages of justice in Australia.

The 55-year-old was jailed in 2003 for killing her four children — Sarah, Caleb, Laura and Patrick - between 1989 and 1999. But a second inquiry into her convictions, which heard new scientific and psychiatric evidence, found there was “reasonable doubt” as to Folbigg’s guilt.
