Katie Price was a no-show at her bankruptcy hearing today, with a judge issuing an arrest warrant for the star as it was revealed she was in Turkey with boyfriend JJ Slater
A court heart today that Katie Price had skipped her latest bankruptcy hearing as she was last seen eating a crisp sandwich in a now-deleted Instagram story.
It had been firmly stated in a previous court sitting that the model could face arrest if she failed to attend future dates, and sufficient evidence would be necessary should she fail to appear. The judge stated: "It is in my judgment necessary that the court issue a warrant for Ms Price's arrest. She has no real excuse in failing to attend today's hearing. The reason for her absence today is irrelevant."
She was then declared bankrupt for a second time in March due to an unpaid tax bill worth more than £750,000 owed to HM Revenue and Customs. In October last year, Katie expressed her frustration with being threatened with legal action and said she would go to prison to be "done with it all". The court heard that Katie Price's freedom could be at risk, with the lawyer stating: "Her liberty is on the line, but unfortunately we are at the end of the road in relation to this matter."
