The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in the Philippines is bringing Korean culture to Davao City in a two-day event at SM Lanang Premier. ManilaBulletin

Under the theme “Spring in Joseon,” this year’s Korean Festival, hosted by the Korean Embassy’s KCC in partnership with SM Lanang Premier, will be held on April 29 and 30 at the mall’s fountain court. With different Korean food and drinks combined with traditional activities, the festival promises to take attendees to the old Korea like an episode in a Korean historial drama.

“Spring in Joseon” marks the new beginning of present-day Korea as it was when Hangeul, the unique Korean characters, was made. Since then, everyone was able to express themselves freely and the Korean literature written in Hangeul also started, giving birth to the world widely loved K-drama and K-pop.

There will be activity booths that are free for everyone to enjoy from traditional Korean spring activities like Beongseonhwa Nail Dye, down to playing traditional Korean games, Neolttwigi . The event will also have aesthetic photo spots like one is in a Korean palace. There will also be traditional Korean spring food like Hwajeon and drinks prepared to enjoy.

In addition, a Korean traditional performance team will showcase their talent in playing and singing traditional Korean songs called Pungmulnori and Pansori .The event will also have the “Everyone’s KPOP: Davao” contest on April 29 wherein the grand winner will get the chance to perform again on stage on April 30 to cap off the festival. This contest also marks the first-ever K-Pop contest in the region hosted by KCC.
